If you are looking for an entry model then the Carl Lewis CEA 001 is the one for you. The very low price makes it a very 'low risk' investment. Will it give you expected results? Answer it will for sure give you some results but I would suggest you do not set your expectations too high.
The machine has 16 different speed settings, which are controlled by the easy-to-use speed dial. It also has 4 different pre set programmes. The unit is a simple design with no 'frills'. The rubber-surfaced platform is rather small. Even though you can choose 3 different height levels for the main column with handle bar, I still found the highest setting too low.
The machine however is very light, which could be a bonus for moving the unit in and out of storage .The motor is not very powerful and sounds a little bit like a sewing machine. Having said that I am aware of certain people being concerned of high powered vibration intensities and therefore this little unit will give a good introduction to vibration training for the non-experienced user.
I can see why quite a few people opt for this low budget model. It would not be my first choice and I am not convinced that Carl Lewis will use it for his fitness training, but it is no doubt a vibration plate.
The controls are extremely easy to read and understand. The machine even features a `Fat Reader`, in other words it will indicate how much fat you have burnt during your workout on the plate. As a weight loss expert I do want to express a little bit of caution at this point as the readings on the control panel will only be an estimation of a possibly fat loss. Those reading will not be specific to your body and your fat burning capacity.
Overall an OK model that will enable you to do some vibration training.
