This is a high quality vibration plate for more of a niche market. All the features on this machine seem to be directed towards the rehabilitating home exerciser, as the maximum vibration frequency option is rather low.

It can however be stepped up in 1 Hz increments. This is a well thought-through feature for someone who is very sensitive to vibration, possible recovering from injury or surgery and wanting to build up strength, bone density and joint support in a progressive but safe way.

Additionally this vibration trainer does also have some pre-programmed exercise routines that you can easily follow as some graphics on the screen will display how you need to position yourself correctly on the plate. It will also highlight the different muscles that you are working with the different programmes. Almost like a 'built in personal trainer' (just not as good looking as the real McCoy ).

One unusual great feature is the marking on the footplate that cuts out the guesswork of where to position your hands and feet correctly for different exercises in order to work your body as balanced as possible.

The Globus Physio Wave 500 will also deliver results for the more advanced exerciser. The strong motor, the easy to read display screen and the good size platform will guarantee a good workout for almost anybody.

My view: read about my qualifications here

Even though I find the vibration frequency options limited I do know that Globus, a company with 20 years of experience in the Sport & Medical Sector, have designed the features on the plate not only for the keen exerciser looking to get into a great shape but also for the home user looking to safely re-introduce strength and conditioning exercises after injury or surgery.

Overall a good vibration trainer from a company that has hugely invested in researching the effects of vibration training. On the downside I feel the design could be massively improved, the handle bar is just an open half moon, the branding on the machine is over sized and everything else look a little bit too square for me.

Akabusi Thumbs Up:

All features allow safe exercising.
Some features are specifically good for the rehabilitating exerciser.
Pre- programmed exercises get displayed graphically on the screen.
Markings on footplate make correct balanced positioning of hands and feet easy.
Hz settings can be increased in 1-step increments.
Manual setting options allow individualized programme design.
Good quality smooth motor.
Generously sized platform.
Additional Stop/ Start button on the lower part of column.
Globus is a well-respected manufacturer in the sports and rehabilitation sector.

Akabusi Thumbs Down:

Vibration frequency option is low.
General availability of product information is limited.
Design of actual machine seems 'bold' and not very stylish.
No accessories supplied.
